Divinity fell in love with hair backstage — wrapping tight buns for ballerinas. Training to be a professional ballerina from the age of 18 months to 18 years old, she reluctantly took time away from ballet to nurse her body after years of malnutrition & physical impact. During that time, she attended three years of university and left knowing her soul desired more…Divinity enrolled in Paul Mitchell, graduating with honors in 2016. With shears in hand and something to prove, Divinity dedicated herself to the craft in pursuit of mastering all that was thrown at her. She used her story to advocate for women who were dealt the same hand and stayed the course her life laid out for her, dominating its direction along the way. Today, her work is celebrated not only behind the chair, but also as a guest artist, educator, a celebrity hairstylist based in LA, as well as an online following of over 1.5 million.Divinity specializes in bombshell transformations — think 90’s supermodel meets rockstar’s girlfriend. Whether she’s taking hair from jet black to fiery red, or adding 30’ extensions, Divinity’s work is as multidimensional as the women in her chair. Nothing is off limits, her clientele ranges from showgirls to supermodels, all the way to suburban moms and "it-girls". Every head of hair she touches is an ode to power, softness and rebellion. As a traveling educator and proud owner of Divinity Ray Beauty, Divinity has taught stylists across the world not just how to cut or color but how to carve their own path in this electrifying industry. Her signature? Black Swan energy. She believes you don’t have to play by the rules to be successful. She believes you can be ‘too much’ and fiercely embody who you are. You can be the artist, the outlier, the one who didn’t fit the mold — and still take center stage.
